A big part of studying journalism at university is having News Days every week – where we work like we’re in a professional News Room for a day. In my first year, my role was to help the leaders on each stories, take photos, fill in where needed and help where I can. Second year was more about leading the stories and in third year I took on a variety of editorial roles.
In my first News Story I took photos of a local charity shop and wrote some copy for social media. I really didn’t enjoy News Days at the beginning of first year, but I did everything I could to prove I deserved to be put on better stories and putting that work in really worked for me in the long run!
