Hello!

Everyone else in the UK gets a half term this week, I don’t know if I’m going to last till Christmas without a week off – I’m exhausted. Two days for the weekend really isn’t enough for me – I do not feel rested at all! Not feeling much healthier than yesterday either.

But I knew I had to do something so I’ve been trying to sort some of the money stuff I have to pay for the jazz team I’m on (joining a society is so expensive, so, so expensive) and because I was very confused about the whole thing I messaged my mum for help. Messaging my mum reminded me that I should message my sister for a catch up and now I’m holding four conversations at once and I’m very confused.

However my sister told me that she’d been into a tattoo parlour in my home town and inquired about getting the tattoo in the header photo (that I designed, might I add – I’m very proud). She went into the shop, asked how long it would take, how much it would cost and is going to book a consultation for us to get it together when I’m home for my dad’s birthday weekend.

The design is intended to represent each of our names – my sister’s name, Laura, means Laurel wreath and my name means wisdom in Greek. Hence the design of the Greek word for wisdom surrounded by the laurel wreath.

Clearly since she turned 18, she’s been eager to get it and I’m glad she mentioned it because I’ve been very indecisive about getting another tattoo since I came to uni even though there’s a really nice parlour less than 10 minutes from where I live! It kind of forces me to get another one and then I think it’s going to be a downhill spiral into getting quite a few… and maybe a lip piercing (sorry mum).

I love my sister a lot and I think moving away (even though this doesn’t really feel like I live here yet) has really strengthened our relationship – I love that kid with all my heart and the fact my baby sister is 18 is killing me, just a little bit.

I’m really excited to get this tattoo, even though it’s almost a month away!
