Hello!

Last night Doctor Who returned for Series 9 with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Louise-Coleman as the Doctor and his assistant respectively.

(Can you tell I’m trying to be a proper journalist?)

I wasn’t sure how I was going to watch the episode as I’d just moved into university – I knew there was a big TV in the main common room but I didn’t know if it would be free so I thought I might have to wait until it was available on iPlayer in my room.

I basically had no idea whether I would have a friend to spend time with or whether I would have retreated to my room on my own. Luckily I made a friend and we went down to the common room and it was completely empty! We watched the end of Pointless, the episode of the new series started and it was okay. A few people came in but they left when they saw we were watching something.

Then some people came in and started playing pool and they got increasingly louder as the episode went on – I basically have no idea how the episode ended, I definitely need to watch it again because I don’t feel like I can review it at all because I don’t really know what happened. I’m hoping to watch it again in the next few days.

So this isn’t a Doctor Who review at all, it’s more of a review of my viewing of Doctor Who but there you go! I feel like so much is going to be happening in the next few months that this blog will become more about me and less articles about current affairs and what not.

I’m excited – this is going to be a really good way to document my first year of uni and keep my family up to date with everything that’s going on.
