Hello!

I looked at the date today and noticed that it must have been about a year since I started this blog and wrote 8 posts in the following four months (awful!).

It has been a year! Over a year! I created this blog on September 6th and today is September 9th! More importantly it’s only two days until my birthday but it’s three days since my blog anniversary!

I have no sunk low enough to use ‘blog-iversary’ as of yet. We’ll see next year, if I remember it that is.

I started this blog because I was writing my personal statement for university and I had a blog (under the same name, I deleted it to recreate this blog) but it wasn’t very good and I was embarrassed by some of the posts so I deleted it and started again. But I’d written in my personal statement that I had a blog, so I figured I should actually make one and start using it.

I wrote a few posts so that I could show the universities I had applied to that I was blogging, but I didn’t really get into it in 2014.

On New Years Day I saw someone post on instagram one of those ‘Page 1 of 365’ and I thought that would be a good title for a blog series and 252 days later – here we are.

I started blogging because I felt I had to – at the university open days I went to after I started this blog, everyone said I should have a blog and whilst I didn’t start blogging because I felt ‘inspired’ to write, I definitely fell in love with blogging on the way.

It’s really helped me refine and polish my style, I just hope people like it!
