Hello!

I really love elephants. What I love most about the elephant in the header photo is that I took that photo and it was about two metres away from me and it was one of the best moments of my life.

Elephants have been my favourite animal for as long as I can remember – I’ve grown up with elephant toys and elephant ornaments and whenever my mum sees an item of clothing with elephants on, she’ll buy it for me and I love that.

Since I was maybe 8 years old and I understood events like Red Nose Day and Comic Relief, I’ve wanted to go to an elephant sanctuary in Africa (or wherever) and work with elephants, it would be incredible. As soon as I have enough expendable income I want to donate to charity and an elephant charity is really high up on my list.

I can’t even express how much I love these creatures or why – they’re just so majestic and calm and cute. I once saw a video of a 6 month old elephant calf being given a box of hay for his half birthday and he got so excited he fell over.

He got so excited he fell over!

That’s precious and it’s making me all giddy just thinking about it.

I remember watching an elephant documentary with my dad once called ‘The Elephant Diaries’ and there was a story about how one of the male teenagers went off from the group to do his own thing and then right at the end of the documentary, a male elephant approached the group and it was the son and he’d come back and I legitimately almost cried.

Over an elephant.

They’re just such beautiful, beautiful creatures. Look how cute these little calves are (again, my photo).

You may think that my love of elephants means my favourite Disney film is Dumbo. No, watching Dumbo makes me sad because he’s so sad. Show me Tangled any day, the Dumbo dream sequence is terrifying.

I can’t wait till the day I can support elephant properly, they’re without a shadow of a doubt my favourite animals.
