Hello!
Writing this, I am sat in my garden, feet up, sun cream on, writing in an actual notebook and this is one of my favourite things to do in summer.
I like being outside, I like the summer breeze and I like being in the sun. My mum has this really nice garden chair and it’s lovely to work on – I’ve got most of my writing done here recently.
But I’m also one of those people that moves with the sun – I’m trying to get a tan. I’m so pale, that in the sunlight it almost hurts to look at my skin because it’s so white.
An obvious solution would be to fake tan, but having seen so many orange mistakes I don’t want to risk it. Plus, I don’t think I’d suit it straight away so I’d rather tan more gradually.
I do tend to burn more than tan – I got a bit burnt on my shoulders yesterday but I’m generally good with sun tan lotion, so much so that I don’t think I’ve ever got a tan before. My arms are darker than my stomach but I think a better description would be ‘my stomach is whiter than my arms’.
Two years ago, when I went to Tanzania for a month, I thought I’d got a tan but it all washed away when I got home and had a proper shower.
Here’s to ‘tanning’ in Ecuador!
Thank you for reading,
Sophie xx
