Hello!

When I set up this blog, I thought that I’d intersperse ‘what I did today’ blog posts with more articulate articles and creative writing and recipes, but I think I’ve done this maybe twice in the 118 consecutive days I’ve been blogging and today a couple of really exciting things have happened. I started this blog because I love writing but from a nostalgic point of view, I want to be able to look back at this blog and remember what was going on in my life at the time I was writing review’s the Avenger’s and recipes for pasta bake!

It’s silly little things to be happy about but I got a B in my English Literature coursework! A levels are difficult to explain to people who don’t know what A Levels are, but basically it’s a two year course in a subject. In my case, you take 50%’s worth of the exams at the end of the first year and 50% of the exams at the end of the second year. From there, that 50% is 20% based on coursework and 30% based on an exam. Last year I got a C in the coursework and a B in the exam, so overall a C. In the 20% that makes up this years coursework I got a B! It might change, it’s got to be double marked and it’s subject to change in the grade boundaries but I’m probably going to get a B!

That’s a really long explanation as to what A Levels are and why this B is so exciting, but it might mean I get the C I need overall. I lot of people would consider that low expectations but I need three C’s to get to uni and if I do better it’ll be a miracle. I’m so happy with my B, you have no idea.

And from a much more innocent point of view, the fact that this is page 118 makes me laugh because it makes me think of the 118 advert and the little jingle song and it makes me laugh. 

It really is the little things!
