Page 110 of 365: Writer’s Block

Uncategorized

Hello,

I’ve been sat here for hours trying to think of something to write – I scrolled through twitter trending topics, asked people on tumblr, scrolling through YouTube, looked at some pictures on Google to see if that would inspire me and even Googled ‘what should I blog about’.

I drew no conclusions. I can’t think of anything.

But I’m determined not to break the chain of this blogging project (again) so I’ll just talk about writer’s block and the future of the project. I just came up with talking about the idea of the project, perfect.

I’ve thought repeatedly since starting this project that this was the best year to do it – this is going to be the biggest year of my life so far and I’m going to go through the most changes potentially ever and I’m really glad I started it – I’ve got my last ever day of school and finishing with the education system, I’ve got a month long trip to Ecuador and in September, I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen with my life. I’m probably going to move out but it could be to one of three different places but I might still stay at home.

I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing and you, as a reader, will get to experience it with me. That’s somewhat exciting and somewhat terrifying. Mostly terrifying, but exciting too.

Regarding the future of this blog, in 2016 I will definitely keep blogging and I feel like the quality of my blog will improve because I’ll be writing when I really want to blog about something, not because I feel I have to every day. I do love blogging now, I’m really glad I started the project but there’s no way I could blog for two years in a row.

It’s ironic that the post that started off being about writer’s block has actually ended up being quite long, it leads me onto how I get over writer’s block (in most creative writing cases) – either don’t write, because forcing it might make something awful, or just write and it might make something brilliant.

Thanks for reading,

Sophie xx
