Hello!

I feel like I’m really late to this party but I saw Big Hero 6 at my local cinema today and Tadashi stole my heart.

I knew I was going to love this film – combining Disney and Marvel is taking two of my favourite film producers and putting them together is destined to make a movie that I’d fall in love with and I did. Not only did I adore the script, the characters and the music but I really liked the animation style – I love films but I can’t afford to see them as much as I’d like, so normally the style of animation isn’t my focus because I love writing so much that the script and dialogue is usually what captures my attention, but I love the style – it’s so gorgeous, I love it.

Secondly I have to talk about the music – I knew Fall Out Boy sung the title song ‘Immortals’ and when it started playing half way through the movie, my sister and I had a tiny little party lip-syncing all the lyrics (except my sister sung, annoyingly loudly) but the music in the film is astounding – it combines both traditional orchestral music used in all films with more modern sounds that reflect the modern nature of the film with the advanced technology and robots. I really enjoy it and I’m going to spend tonight listening to the soundtrack.

The last thing I’m going to talk about is my favourite character in the movie – everyone loves Baymax, he’s a giant cuddly marshmallow that has some brilliantly hilarious lines and I really liked Hiro because he was quirky and relatable and cute and I wanted to protect him from any more hurt but, as I’ve already said – Tadashi stole my heart.

I don’t really know why, but he’s such a wonderful older brother and he’s so fatherly and paternal and protective of Hiro and I think it’s something to do with the fact that I’ve always wanted an older brother (however much my mum tells me I wouldn’t want an older brother). I love Tadashi.
