Page 92 of 365: Rice Krispie Cake Recipe!

Uncategorized

Hello!

Tomorrow is Good Friday, Sunday is Easter Sunday and I’m pretty sure Monday is a bank holiday but I can’t remember what it’s called but either way – Easter weekend! Lots of Easter products! Like Rice Krispie Egg Nest Cake things!

Ingredients:
4oz plain chocolate (I don’t think more would be a problem)
2oz butter
4oz Rice Krispies, Cornflakes, your cereal of choice
1 tbsp Golden Syrup

This recipe is so easier, you can have so much fun with it!

Step 1: Measure out the chocolate, butter and syrup into a bowl and melt in the microwave for thirty second bursts until it’s almost completely melted. If it’s got little lumps of chocolate or butter left, take it out and stir until it’s smooth. Or like me, forget to take it out after thirty seconds, leave it for forty one seconds and don’t put it back in because you’re scared you’ll burn it. By ‘you’ I mean me. That was me.

Step 2: Add your cereal of choice, it looks like a lot but it works out fine.

Step 3: Fold the cereal until they’re all completely covered in the chocolate mix. Though, I imagine partially covered cereal would look kind of marble-effect and cool actually. Do whatever. You do you. Live your life. Through cereal cakes. Creative freedom!

Step 4: Line the cupcake tins with cupcake cases. I recommend you get a sister to do it. Sister’s are fabulous (because you can make them do the washing up because you did it last time and that’s fair).

Step 5: Use two spoons to put the cereal-chocolate mixture into the cupcake cases. Heaped cakes are preferable. More cake!

Step 6: Put mini-eggs and/or any other decorations you’d like to put on your cakes, mini-eggs are particularly Easter-y!

Step 7: Put the cakes in the fridge for a couple of hours until they’re krispie (see what I did there). I heard fridges enhance deliciousness. I’m super tired, this is getting weird.

Step 8: You have Rice Krispie Easter Egg Nest Cakes! It’s not a very good name, but it’ll be worth it when you eat the cakes. They’re great and super easy!

I hope you like this recipe, I hope this makes up for missing ‘yesterday’s’ post and I hope you don’t mind having two blog posts in a day! We’re getting really close to 100 posts!

Thank you for reading,

Sophie xx
