I’m a useless blogger and an average photographer

Uncategorized

I’ve been trying to write a blog post for weeks but I just couldn’t think of anything to write about and I didn’t want to force it so here we are.

Recently I’ve been taking lots of pictures and I’ve got a few snaps that I’m really proud of so I thought I’d share them!

This is a picture of a ring I bought from Topshop in the summer – it’s a bit like one of the tattoos I’ve designed, it was under £5 and I had a Topshop voucher so why wouldn’t I really?! I think it’s really pretty – I like that it’s silver and has little diamond-like jewels without being totally in-your-face and too big. It’s subtle and I like subtle jewellery.

I went out for dinner with my family tonight, an American-style restaurant called Wild Wood and each table was furnished with a frosted mirror and I was feeling artsy so I took this natural photo of my mum and my sister, Laura.

I like exploring and playing around with the focus on my camera – I’m still very much getting used to it and learning about it – and coca-cola is potentially one of my biggest life passions. My name is Sophie and I’m addicted to coca-cola.

Wow, hey, look, Sophie took a picture of a candle? Check my instagram and my photography blog for lots of pictures of candles. I really like the way this candle was presented and the design of the glass candle holder. Again; it was very subtle.

I’m very proud of my mum and my sister – they’re both very beautiful and they look their most beautiful when they think no one is looking.

This is the closest I could get to taking a selfie with a DSLR I think! I don’t know, there’s no particular focus but I’m particularly fond of this one. It’s not because I’m in it.

Technically this is a reject photo from a specific photo I asked my sister to take because my Dad started to tickle me but again – I think my sister has managed to capture a very natural moment and, personally, I think that’s the best kind of photography.

I bought the metallic guitar pick necklace designed by Luke Hemmings of 5 Seconds of Summer fame and I’ve been playing around with how to wear it. I was given the bottle necklace by one of my best friend’s Rachel and it says ‘You are what you love, not who loves you‘ on a piece of paper inside – a Fall Out Boy lyric that she knew I want to get tattooed at some point in the near future. I’ve wanted to take this photo for a while, as it shows off my fading blue hair and I think it’s fun.

The food at Wild Wood was really good. The garlic bread was very fancy but the pizza was really good and the interior design was amazing – very retro and unique.

I’m lucky to live so near to such a beautiful piece of natural history in Peterborough Cathedral and being able to see it illuminated at night.

I’m really loving photography at the moment – the challenge of capturing one moment within a single frame? That’s amazing, I love it.
