Hi. I suppose that’s where I’ll start.

If you scroll back through most popular blogs first blog post it’ll probably be ‘Hi I’m [name] and I’m going to make a blog about [whatever]’ and I’m not very good at stereotypical so I don’t want to do that.

I don’t really know what I want to blog about – I love music and films and books, I spent a lot of time on tumblr and I’ve been called a ‘fangirl’ since I was about 9. Writing is my passion, I started writing formally (ish) in October 2008 and in November 2012 I wrote the first draft of my novel in six weeks.

But that doesn’t help me with what I’m going to blog about.

I’m also big into YouTube and obviously a lot of YouTubers blog as well as making videos so you’d think I’d be imitating Zoella and Sprinkle of Glitter so I’d blog about life and beauty right? Well, no – I like clothes but not fashion. I have a t-shirt collection of about 70 t-shirts but I wouldn’t say it was any style outside ‘comfort’. I can blog about that if you like.

I make YouTube videos at least once a week over at SophieCountsClouds and I have three main tumblr blogs that I use – lost-in-a-nebula where the most unusual collection of reblogged posts appear, 5sos-au-imagines where I express my adoration for the band 5 Seconds of Summer and write fictional pieces about the band to help me explore my writing style and refine my practice and lastly SophieCountsClouds (can you see a theme?) where I reblog gifs of YouTubers and promote my YouTube videos.

My 5 Seconds of Summer blog is by far the most popular – I have a few thousand amazing followers who seem invested in me; they seem to like me. I’m not entirely sure why.

I want to conclude this post by talking about when I met Carrie Hope Fletcher (ItsWayPastMyBedtime on YouTube, author of ‘All I Know Now’ and starring as Eponine in Les Miserables in the West End). I went to see her in Les Miserables and kind of accidentally met her at stage door. It was an honour – she’s so kind and so happy and I can only dream of being as inspirational and spread as much positivity as her.

On the day I was told that we looked like sisters which is beyond overwhelming in itself because she’s so beautiful but then in the weeks and months that have passed I’ve been told that I remind people of her – in my looks, my personality and my attitude.

Not only Carrie Fletcher but Ashton Irwin. Being told that I’m like these people only inspires me to be so much more like them – they’re both so talented and so giving that to be known for being like them would make me a very happy girl.

So whilst I don’t know what I’ll be posting about on this blog, spreading joy and making other people happy is definitely something I want to do. If I can channel my inner Carrie Hope Fletcher and Ashton Irwin then I think this blog could be great.

I hope you think so too.

‘My name’s Sophie and I want to write a blog spreading positivity.’
